"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."
-Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
Mason Patterson- Mason is the assistant theatre director at Morton Ranch High School in Katy ISD. He originally grew up in Friendswood, TX where he found his love for the arts as a participant and patron. He attended the University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance and received a BFA in Theatre Education.
Mason is honored to be a part of the 2019 Artists' Collective with Holy Family where he shares a desire with fellow artists to help the world through their work. He believes that through this you begin to grow deeper in your love for your medium as well as appreciation for your uniqueness in thought. He loves hearing stories about his fellow artists that change or challenge his perceptions on things and gives him deeper insight into their processes and developments of different pieces. The idea of perception infinitely fascinates him. Is this red or orange? Navy or black? Green or gray? The piece asks not for the color, but the body and soul. The colors strongly hold together.
"No matter what you call it, it’s still an orange.
No matter how you eat it, it’s still an orange.
No matter what color an orange is, it’s still an orange."
